This framed print of a photo I took features a little known Qualicum Beach walking trail around Hoy Lake Road. On this crisp autumn day I timed my shot just after the sunlight transitions from bright white to warm golden hue. This emphasized the light shining through the leaves and the glow of green, yellow, and orange colours.

Composition was very challenging with this one. After many attempts, I successfully balanced the trail within the frame while also ensuring the grandeur of the trees and their vibrant colours were represented perfectly. The green leaves on the left and yellow/orange on the right have a deeper meaning where the transition from summer to autumn can be interpreted within visual form.
